Recently I was lucky enough to delve into the photography archives at the Courtauld Institute.
Amongst many amazing collections and individual prints, I came across this beautiful image of Sir Anthony Blunt, director of the Courtauld Institute (1947-74) and, incidentally, Soviet spy. This picture was taken in around 1970 in the ‘leaning house’ of Bomarzo Park, near Rome. I love how, in a moment of humour, Blunt doubles as a measure of scale and angle for the camera.
